Description

Crispy salmon bites coated in panko breadcrumbs, served with a zesty Bang Bang sauce. These flavorful bites make for an impressive appetizer or main dish, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Cut the salmon fillets into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined.
  4. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Coat each salmon piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally roll in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  8. Fry the breaded salmon bites in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Arrange the cooked salmon bites on a serving platter. Drizzle with Bang Bang sauce or serve on the side for dipping. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • For a healthier option, bake the salmon bites at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Marinate the salmon in soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for added flavor before breading.
